DC-3

An easy-building, sport-scale electric twin.

DC-3

Instantly recognizable by the unique shape of its wing and the majestic sound of its twin engines, the Douglas DC-3 was a classic from aviation's "Golden Era." This Almost-Ready-to-Fly R/C model replicates the DC-3's profile and performance — with today's technology and efficient electric power!

  • The fiberglass fuselage comes already painted, with vertical fin molded in place. Fiberglass Fuselage
  • Ailerons are pre-hinged on the balsa/ply wing, which — along with all tail surfaces — is factory-covered in durable polyester iron-on film.
  • Includes a complete electric propulsion package, with twin motors, props, spinners, all wiring and a BEC speed control.
  • For convenience, a plywood tray positions the servos inside the fuselage.

DC-3
A minimum number of parts, combined with the painted fiberglass fuselage and prebuilt and precovered wood wing and tail sections, makes for quick and easy final assembly. You can be piloting this exciting twin in just 6-10 hours!

  DC-3
A removable hatch allows easy access to the battery without having to remove the wing. The battery mounts onto a tray with Velcro® fasteners.

DC-3
The basic airframe is made of 9 preformed foam parts that fit together securely and accurately without carving or sanding; all necessary hardware, including all servo linkages, is supplied.

DC-3 with Don Anderson
"Combine the classic lines of the Douglas DC-3 with motor power that's smooth, quiet and dependable, and you've got a perfect choice for a first electric twin... and that's even before you factor in its ARF ease."

Note: Some models require a 3-channel radio system, but a 4-channel will also work and it's beneficial because the modeler can use it in a wider range of applications with larger aircraft in the future. It depends on whether the modeler plans on using their radio for different uses other than just this airplane. Also please note that some radios come with receiver, crystal and/or servos.
