Fairchild PT-19
Fairchild PT-19

The Army's primary trainer of WWII!

The little park flyer that's a whole lotta fun!

For many of WWII's fighter pilots, the PT-19 was the "Cradle of Heroes" — the first step in becoming a fighter pilot. Inexpensive and easy to maintain, the PT-19 offered wing loadings and speeds that approximated those of contemporary fighters. And while it demanded more precise, careful control than earlier biplane trainers, it repaid growing flight skills with exceptionally strong and predictable performance.

  • Offers the look of original primary trainer, with the aerobatic performance of a "second" plane.
  • Prebuilt for faster final assembly, with details you'd expect only in a kit!
  • Loaded with realistic extras, including formed windscreens, a rollover pylon and a steerable tailwheel for ground control!

parts layout
The best description of PT-19 assembly is "Easy does it." There's no recovering or building to do…and most hardware is already installed and ready to go.
spacer
RimFire 400 motor
The PT-19's prebuilt motor box makes installing a RimFire 400 a snap!

landing gear
Formed wire landing gear and strut covers duplicate the fixed gear of the original. The ElectriFly version includes a steerable tailwheel, for smooth, easy ground handling.

magnetic battery hatch
The magnetically attached hatch makes it easy to "Keep 'em flying!" It comes off easily for pack changes and snaps back into place in seconds.
rollover pylon and windscreens
An authentic rollover pylon between the familiar three-panel windscreens gives the 2-seater cockpit added realism with no added work!
Pilots not included.
  cockpit
The resemblance to the full-size trainer is remarkable inside and out, with factory-applied MonoKote® film and decals on the exterior and instrument panels in the pilot and instructor's cockpits.
3-view
Even today, the Army's premier pilot-maker of WWII is an air show favorite, with over 100 still in flying condition. With its bright yellow and blue trim scheme and near-seventy year service record, it stands as one of the most easily recognizable airplanes in the world.
